Community guidance
An advisory committee of mental health professionals and people with lived experience guides CMHI event topics and priorities.
CMHI’s Impact grows through mental health training, community education, research, and church partnerships. We track participation, program feedback, and the capacity churches retain after an event ends to understand how our work supports more informed, compassionate responses.
In May 2026, eleven participants completed CMHI’s church-based Mental Health Response Team training at Christ Community Church. The program gave the group shared language, clearer response roles, and a structure for connecting people to appropriate support.

Participation shows how many opportunities we create for learning and connection. Symposium engagements count participation across the 2025 and 2026 events and may include people who attended more than once. The average rating reflects feedback from the 2026 symposium; it is a measure of attendee experience, rather than a clinical outcome.
Training completions are another step toward a prepared community. We also value the relationships, referral connections, and practical conversations that continue after a workshop. Our research team examines how mental health education fits the cultural and spiritual realities of church communities, while our fellows help strengthen programs and partnerships.
