Immanuel; God with us

Immanuel – A Poetic Reminder That God Cares

We are thrilled to share a heartfelt blog post by community member Lisa Choudhrie, reflecting on the comforting presence of Immanuel—God with us. In both our moments of joy and our seasons of struggle, Immanuel is present, deeply caring about our feelings and experiences. Lisa draws from scripture to remind us that God doesn’t just see our circumstances; He feels with us, walking beside us through every high and low.

Whether we’re celebrating victories or wrestling with anxiety, God’s love is constant, and His compassion for us is unwavering. Lisa’s post reminds us that Immanuel is not distant or uninvolved, but a God who intimately knows and cares for our emotional and spiritual well-being.

Immanuel

God with us

YHWH Creator

World- former

Galaxy -spinner

Is here with us

Not for a day

Here to stay..

Not just for the good times..

But even in our sorrows

Grief and pain

He is here in the midst

Of our humanity, our grime..

Not a time for tears

This is a time for rejoicing

But He is Immanuel..

So we needn’t pretty up

Put the make-up on

Our God is with us

Very present, very perfect..

He sees our hearts

He understands

He was here, remember

He donned human skin.

Grief, loss, pain

Through it all

He gives us the space

To let naked emotions be displayed..

Immanuel, He stands at the door

And waits till we open

And greets us

Not with a jolly ‘ ho ho’

But a love that understands

He is Immanuel

Shows us His hands

Pierced by cruel nails

Our names on His palms

Enfolds us in His loving arms..

Immanuel… God with us…
